Located at the City Hall, the Belfast Christmas Market is a melting pot of festive traditions from around the world. With over 100 stalls representing countries such as Germany, Spain, and France, this market is a cultural journey wrapped in holiday cheer.

As you explore, you’ll find everything from hand-carved ornaments to exquisite jewelry, perfect for ticking off your Christmas gift list. The food offerings are a highlight, with everything from Belgian waffles to kangaroo burgers (yes, you read that right!).

We came here from Center Parcs Longford and before getting the ferry across to Liverpool and we had a lovely evening here and despite it being a Monday, we were surprized by how crowded it was.

The lively atmosphere here is only enhanced by street performers and musicians. For a truly magical experience, visit the market at night when the City Hall is aglow with festive lights. I recommend visiting all of these markets when it’s dark, by the way.

Glow Christmas Market, Cork City

  • Why Visit? Experience the warmth and charm of a traditional Irish Christmas in Cork, known for its friendly locals and spirited celebrations.

The Glow Christmas Celebration in Cork is a festival of lights and laughter, centered around the Grand Parade, Counting House Plaza (old Beamish & Crawford site), and Bishop Lucey Park. As you wander through the market, you’ll find a delightful selection of crafts, gourmet foods, and unique gifts.

Being from Cork, I’ve visited this market countless times with my daughters and their cousins, and they really loved the Ferris Wheel (although my niece is afraid of heights, so it probably wasn’t a good idea for her to go on it).

As I mentioned, the highlight of this market is undoubtedly the Ferris wheel on the Grand Parade, offering panoramic views of the city’s twinkling lights. Families will love the Christmas Wonderland in Bishop Lucey Park, complete with festive displays and interactive installations. And all of the food stalls, coffee stalls, and a fun interactive snow globe are at Emmet Place.

And, of course, no visit to Cork would be complete without sampling some of the local specialties, such as spiced beef and sweet treats from the famous English Market.

Waterford Winterval

But what truly sets Waterford apart is its magical light displays and interactive installations – almost the whole city is lit up.
